| BILL!!! The walking stick was
a success, and my dad's first response (he didn't have his glasses
on yet) was "it is so light!". This may not mean a lot
to you or me... but dad I guess has looked at many walking sticks
and they tend (as you know) to be very heavy. Once he got the glasses
on, my LOVED the stick. My husband (the newest member to our family)

| Bill, I really wanted to let you know how happy I am. This walking stick is an actual extension of my body. I've been walking with a cane made from soft white pine. It was made for me in 1984, by a brother of a friend who lived in KY. This Juniper wood has a unique texture. The leather wrap makes a fantastic handle. If sitting, I get up and the natural height of the of the handle is perfect for my arm extension. People compliment me all the time. I get into conversations with a variety of individuals. I am so much more ambulatory than I was, when using my cane. I usually take two steps before I touch the floor In front of me. Every time my left leg went forward I would bring my cane forward on my right. My stick only goes forward,on my right side every other time my left leg goes forward. for. It’s amazing. I thought it would be longer than the cane
that I currently have but it was shorter. When I put both canes
in each hand I see now why it was important to measure. Your cane
is a perfect fit. It helps to walk natural. It’s amazing the
difference. It stops me from leaning over when I am in pain. With
the other cane I would experience pain across my shoulders but I
thought it was because the cane was too short but it was too long
and was throwing my alignment off.

| A few days ago, I did a 'tidy up' of 'My Favourites'
where I've kept the web address's for websites of varying interest
to me. There was a lot to tidy up. I then came across a folder specifically
for when I was trying to find someone who would make a customised
walking stick. There was over 15 walking stick manufacturers, the
majority of which do 'customised work'. Yours is the only one, out
of all these 'international' companies who were able to help. I
think that says a lot in itself. Yes, there may be others that I
didn't come across, but considering that I spent several days searching
for one, I would say your pretty unique, in every way. Your work
speaks for itself! I even then went through 'all' the negative e
mail replies from these companies who could/would not help.

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! The cane for Granny arrived in time for Christmas! It arrived at her South Dakota address on Christmas Eve day, just as you said it would. Thank you for all the effort you put into making the cane. Granny loves it and has been using it. She even took it to a funeral she traveled to in Colorado. I think the cane gives her a feeling of renewed independence, as she now doesn’t need to rely on holding on to another person for support. Last night I was reading a bit more information from your website as I want to print and send some of it to Granny. I was quite impressed with your environmental policy, and your apparent love for animals and nature. Knowing this will mean a lot to Granny as well, as she shares the same concerns for nature and animals as you do. He basically got choked up, so at the time we gave it to him, he was very subtle. He was obviously impressed with the quality of it and the thought behind it, but I don’t think he could quite put it in words at that point. About a week later, though, we received a nice, handwritten note of thanks from him via snail-mail . . . said he’d read all of the information you’d included about the nature of the stick, the care of it, etc. and was really impressed. The doctor has told him to walk, walk, walk for the healing of his foot, and he’s taking the stick with him on walks through the local forest preserve. In short . . . he liked it! A lot!
